West Haven Man Sentenced to 6 Years in Federal Prison for Child Sex Abuse Material

West Haven, CT – ADAM C. SALGADO, JR., 32, of West Haven, has been sentenced to 72 months of imprisonment and seven years of supervised release for receiving and possessing child sex abuse material, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.

Salgado was arrested on June 5, 2024, in Texas while serving in the U.S. Army. He was subsequently charged with receipt of child pornography and pleaded guilty on November 10, 2025. As part of his sentencing, Salgado is required to report to prison on April 16.

The investigation into Salgado’s activities was led by Homeland Security Investigations, with assistance from the Middletown Police Department and the Army Criminal Investigation Division. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel George.

The charges against Salgado are part of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s efforts to combat child exploitation and protect children from abuse and exploitation. This prosecution is part of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s commitment to protecting children and keeping them safe from harm.
