Alabama Sex Traffickers Face Federal Charges

Montgomery, AL – A grim chapter in Alabama’s fight against human trafficking has been unveiled as five alleged predators face federal charges for sex trafficking and related offenses.

Kimani Jones, 30, Treymane Lambert, 48, Aleecia Scott, 27, Joseph Keon Bowe, 37, and Daryle Gardner, 30, have been charged with exploiting adult women and minors through force, fraud, and coercion for commercial sex acts. The disturbing allegations span from August 2016 to March 2019.

Jones stands accused of taking a more sinister turn by forcing two minors into the sex trade. In addition to these charges, Jones is also charged with transporting minors across state lines for prostitution in 2016 and 2020. Gardner faces similar charges, transporting an adult woman across state lines for prostitution in 2020.

This federal indictment serves as a stark reminder that human trafficking remains a persistent threat within our communities. Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

With penalties ranging from substantial prison terms to mandatory restitution, justice awaits those found guilty. The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and local law enforcement agencies. If you have information about human trafficking, the National Human Trafficking Hotline is available 24/7 at 1-888-373-7888.
