EUGENE, Ore. — In a disturbing case of sexual exploitation, Kevin Walter Taylor, 35, of Albany, Oregon, was today sentenced to federal prison for sexually abusing a toddler on multiple occasions and distributing videos of the abuse online.
Taylor, who received a sentence of 504 months—42 years in federal prison—and a life term of supervised release, faced the court’s stern judgment after authorities uncovered a harrowing pattern of abuse. “The sexual abuse of this young child is reprehensible,” U.S. Attorney Scott E. Bradford declared.
ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Seattle Acting Special Agent in Charge Colin Jackson emphasized HSI’s unwavering commitment to protecting children, noting the agents’ swift action that led to Taylor’s arrest and the rescue of the toddler victim just hours after the abuse was discovered.
Court documents revealed that on September 8, 2023, HSI agents identified material depicting child sexual abuse online and traced it back to Taylor’s home. An immediate search warrant resulted in Taylor’s arrest and the recovery of the toddler victim. Agents uncovered further evidence of Taylor’s depravity, including plans for kidnap and rape of other children, as well as filming children in public without their knowledge.
Taylor was indicted on October 19, 2023, with ten counts, including sexually exploiting a child, distributing child pornography, and possessing child pornography. He pleaded guilty to all charges on December 10, 2024.
This case was a joint effort between HSI Portland, HSI Charlotte, the Boone Police Department in North Carolina, and the Albany Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney William M. McLaren led the prosecution in coordination with the Linn County District Attorney’s Office. The public is encouraged to report any instances of child exploitation by contacting HSI at (866) 347-2423 or submitting a tip online at report.cybertip.org.
