RALEIGH, N.C. – Alston Lamonte Parker, 39, faced a federal prison sentence of 15 years after being apprehended with cocaine, marijuana, and cash. The law enforcement operation was a joint effort by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and the ATF, which aimed to dismantle Parker’s criminal enterprise.
According to court records, Parker was under surveillance for three years before authorities executed two search warrants at his residences in Roanoke Rapids. One residence served as a stash house for drugs, while the other held the proceeds from Parker’s illegal activities.
The searches yielded 586.68 grams of cocaine, 1,605 grams of marijuana, eight grams of crack cocaine, and $13,079 in cash. Additionally, a Springfield Armory pistol was recovered, registered to another individual in Virginia, and an additional $11,851 was found at the New Hope Street residence.
Parker is no stranger to the legal system; he has a history of drug-related convictions, including conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. He served 156 months in federal prison for this offense and had previously been convicted of possession of cocaine.
U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle praised the partnership with local law enforcement, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to keep Eastern North Carolina safe. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kimberly Dixon, and further details can be found on the website of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina or on PACER.
