Cameron Nesbitt, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Amarillo TX, 2025

⏱ 2 min read

AMARILLO, TX – Cameron Nesbitt, 33, of Lancaster, California, is facing serious time after a federal jury in Amarillo found him guilty of hauling nearly 100 pounds of methamphetamine through the Texas panhandle. The street value of the drugs: roughly $400,000.

The case broke August 2, 2025, when a Texas DPS trooper pulled over the vehicle Nesbitt was riding in for speeding in Oldham County. The trooper’s gut told him something wasn’t right – the car was a rental, recently picked up in California, and Nesbitt was giving off all the classic signs of a drug mover.

A search turned up the massive stash. Prosecutors laid out the evidence over two days, presenting testimony from law enforcement and over 40 exhibits linking Nesbitt to the shipment. Nesbitt was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute the meth.

“This wasn’t just a small-time operation,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould. “He was trying to flood our streets with a half-million dollars worth of poison.” DEA Special Agent in Charge Joseph B. Tucker added that anyone using North Texas as a highway for drug trafficking will “face the full weight of federal law.”

Nesbitt’s sentencing is pending. He’s looking at a hefty stretch, and the feds aren’t wasting any time bringing down anyone who tries to turn Texas into a drug pipeline.
