Amin Ali, the owner of Goldstar Investment Group LLC, 7 Days Property Management Inc., and Rock Springs Farming LLC, has pleaded guilty to dumping over 100 drums of hazardous waste in Georgia.
The hazardous waste, including chemicals containing benzene, lead, and chromium, was dumped on a farming property in Rock Springs, Georgia, in August 2021.
Ali, 56, of Dalton, Georgia, pleaded guilty to a charge of disposal of hazardous waste without a permit in U.S. District Court in Rome, Georgia, on June 22, 2022.
According to court documents, Ali moved the hazardous waste from a warehouse in Dalton to the Rock Springs property, where it was left in an old chicken house and buried in an open trench.
Subsequent testing revealed the presence of hazardous materials in the soil and the contents of the drums, which were reactive and ignitable.
Amin Ali’s sentencing is scheduled for September 20, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. before U.S. District Judge Leigh Martin May.
The case is being investigated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Criminal Investigation Division, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Huber.
