Anildar Valdimir Roblero-Gomez, Child Pornography, New York 2024

Syracuse, NY – A disturbing case has come to light in New York, where Anildar Valdimir Roblero-Gomez, a 25-year-old Mexican national, has been arrested on child pornography charges.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Roblero-Gomez uploaded several images and videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct to Facebook in September 2018. The defendant is also accused of possessing graphic images and videos constituting child pornography on two cellular telephones in his possession at the time of his arrest.

A federal criminal complaint alleges that Roblero-Gomez transported child pornography by uploading the explicit content to Facebook. He is also accused of possessing child pornography on two cellular telephones.

Roblero-Gomez made his initial appearance in federal court today before United States Magistrate Judge Thérèse Wiley Dancks, who ordered that he be detained pending resolution of the charges. He is also being held on an immigration detainer as he is unlawfully present in the United States.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Sahar L. Amandolare is prosecuting the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse. If convicted, Roblero-Gomez faces a mandatory minimum term of 5 years and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000.00 and a term of supervised release of at least 5 years and up to life, as well as mandatory registration as a sex offender.
