Clark Man Sentenced for Receipt and Distribution of Child Pornography

A Clark, South Dakota man has been sentenced to 120 months in federal prison for his role in a child pornography case.

On November 29, 2021, U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann handed down the sentence to Anthony Dialo Holmes, 37, for the Receipt and Distribution of Child Pornography.

According to court documents, Holmes knowingly received and distributed child pornography between September 1, 2019, and May 22, 2020. He used his Kik Messenger social media account to send and receive files depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Holmes was indicted by a federal grand jury on August 17, 2020. He pled guilty to the charges on August 31, 2021.

The case was investigated by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Clapper prosecuted the case.

In addition to his prison sentence, Holmes was ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release and pay a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

Holmes was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
