A Guatemalan national has been charged with biting an ICE officer during a traffic stop in Alabama.
U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona announced that a federal grand jury in Huntsville has charged Antonio Juan-Juan, 30, with forcibly assaulting a federal officer.
According to court documents, Juan-Juan bit an ICE officer during a traffic stop in DeKalb County.
ICE conducted the investigation, along with the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Brett A. Janich is prosecuting the case.
The maximum penalty for the charged offense is eight years imprisonment.
An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Juan-Juan was charged by a one-count indictment filed in U.S. District Court.
