Larry James Little, 58, of Phoenix, Arizona, has been sentenced to 126 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, U.S. Attorney Josh Hurwit announced today.
A four-month-long investigation by the BADGES Task Force revealed that Little and his co-defendant, Adrianne Anderson, 44, of Phoenix, were distributing fentanyl in Pocatello. After a lengthy investigation, Anderson and Little were stopped by BADGES Task Force officers after they returned to Idaho from Arizona.
During the arrest, officers located approximately 287 fentanyl pills and a firearm in the vehicle. Another firearm was recovered during a search warrant at a storage unit rented by Little and Anderson. Officers also intercepted a package containing two ounces of methamphetamine sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
Senior U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill also sentenced Little to three years of supervised release after the completion of his prison term. Anderson was previously sentenced to five years in federal prison for her role in the offense, followed by three years of supervised release.
U.S. Attorney Hurwit commended the investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Idaho State Police, the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, the Pocatello Police Department, and the Chubbuck Police Department, which participated as part of the HIDTA BADGES Task Force.
The investigation was conducted through the Oregon-Idaho High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program, an Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) sponsored counterdrug grant program that coordinates with and provides funding resources to multi-agency drug enforcement initiatives.
The BADGES Task Force is a collaboration of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies that focuses primarily on drug trafficking crimes in Bannock County and throughout the region.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Blythe H. McLane prosecuted the case, bringing justice to the victims of Little’s fentanyl trafficking operation.
