A 37-year-old Atlantic Beach man has been sentenced to 16 years and three months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Henry Noble, 37, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Timothy J. Corrigan on charges that he was a felon in possession of a firearm.
Noble pleaded guilty to the charges on December 5, 2014. He was found to be in possession of a loaded .45 caliber pistol that had been previously stolen during a residential burglary.
According to court documents, Noble was seen outside a young girl’s bedroom window at midnight on July 27, 2014. A neighbor saw him and called 911. Officers from the Atlantic Beach Police Department responded and ordered him to the ground. Noble fled from the officers but was apprehended after a short foot chase.
The officers found the loaded .45 caliber pistol in Noble’s pocket. Noble was previously convicted of several felonies, including robbery, aggravated battery, and drug charges.
As such, he qualifies for an enhanced penalty under the Armed Career Criminal statute. Noble’s case was investigated by the Atlantic Beach Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Jason Mehta and Frank Talbot. This case is another example of the work being done as part of the ‘Project Safe Neighborhoods’ Program, a nationwide gun-violence reduction strategy.
The program is being coordinated in the Middle District of Florida by United States Attorney A. Lee Bentley, III, and Regina Lombardo, Special Agent in Charge, ATF, in cooperation with federal, state, and local law enforcement officials.
The case is also part of ATF’s Frontline Strategy on reducing violent crime in communities.
