Javaughn Berry, Armed Commercial Robbery, Maryland 2019

Baltimore, MD – Javaughn Berry, a 26-year-old Baltimore resident, has been sentenced to 115 months in federal prison for his role in three armed commercial robberies that took place in 2019.

Berry and his co-conspirator committed the robberies in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, and Baltimore County, targeting pharmacies and retail stores. In each robbery, the suspects brandished a firearm and stole the victim’s vehicle to flee the scene.

The first robbery occurred on October 13, 2019, at a Baltimore pharmacy. Berry and his co-conspirator wore black masks, black gloves, glasses, and yellow reflective vests. They entered the pharmacy at 8:00 a.m. and demanded access to the safe. The suspects took $1,630 in cash and tied the victim’s hands with zip ties before fleeing in the victim’s vehicle.

On November 17, 2019, Berry and his co-conspirator robbed a retail store in Millersville, Maryland. The suspects stole $3,200 in cash and zip-tied the employees. One of the suspects struck a victim on the head and pulled her to the ground, causing a cut to her right ear.

Finally, on December 13, 2019, Berry and his co-conspirator robbed a Parkville, Maryland chain restaurant. The suspects stole $3,393.37 in cash and put zip ties on the wrists and ankles of the shift manager and a co-worker. Berry and his co-conspirator then stole the shift manager’s vehicle and fled the scene.

After tracking the stolen vehicle, police arrested Berry and his co-conspirator on December 16, 2019. Berry has been sentenced to 115 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release. The sentence was announced by Acting United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Jonathan F. Lenzner and other law enforcement officials.
