Baytown Predator Sentenced to 60 Years for Child Pornography

HOUSTON – In a chilling display of justice, Andrew Blake Delacruz, a 30-year-old Baytown resident, has been sentenced to 60 years in federal prison for his sickening exploitation of children. This decision, announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery, marks the culmination of a harrowing investigation into Delacruz’s despicable activities.

On May 6th, Delacruz entered guilty pleas to three counts of sexual exploitation of children, as well as possession and distribution of child pornography. Today, U.S. District Judge Alfred Bennett sentenced him to 720 months behind bars, a severe penalty that reflects the gravity of his crimes. During the hearing, heart-wrenching victim statements detailed how Delacruz’s actions destroyed their lives, fueling the court’s pursuit of justice.

Delacruz was identified by law enforcement after sharing explicit images of a child with a relative through an online chat group dedicated to child exploitation. A subsequent search warrant at his residence uncovered a harrowing cache of child pornography, including videos and images depicting sexual abuse of minors. One victim, just nine years old at the time of the abuse, recounted Delacruz’s grotesque behavior, which included physical assault and attempts at penetration.

The court was also presented with disturbing details of additional victims, one of whom had a mild mental disability. Delacruz’s collection contained images of these minors, along with explicit content involving other children. The evidence against him was overwhelming, and the judge noted his egregious conduct in victimizing three minors, including the young girl with a mental disability.

This sentence comes as part of Project Safe Childhood (PSC), a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kimberly Ann Leo and Luis Batarse led the prosecution, ensuring that justice was served on behalf of the victims. As Delacruz remains in custody pending transfer to federal prison, the nation’s law enforcement agencies continue their relentless pursuit of those who prey on our children.
