Beckley Woman Sentenced for Meth Distribution

BECKLEY, W.Va. – Mariah Diane Keffer, 26, of Beckley, faced the reality of justice today as she was sentenced to one year in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for her role in the distribution of methamphetamine.

Court documents and statements revealed that on December 12, 2022, Keffer sold approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine to an informant at her residence. Her criminal activities did not end there as she admitted to selling a total of about 75 grams over separate transactions for $900 in December and January.

On January 10, 2023, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Keffer’s home, uncovering 71.5 grams of meth, 20.5 grams of fentanyl, various amounts of marijuana, oxycodone, alprazolam, suboxone, diazepam, and psilocybin mushrooms. The drugs were intended for distribution in the Southern District of West Virginia, as Keffer admitted.

United States Attorney Will Thompson announced the sentence, commending the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit for their relentless pursuit of justice. The unit includes officers from the West Virginia State Police, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department, and the Beckley Police Department.

Judge Frank W. Volk imposed the sentence in court, while Assistant United States Attorney Brian D. Parsons prosecuted the case.
