A Sacaton man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for a brutal domestic assault that left his victim temporarily black out. Lawrence Antonio Jackson, 22, was found guilty of domestic assault by a habitual offender on September 16, 2013.
According to court records, on April 9, 2013, Jackson threw a full can of beer at the side of the victim’s head, causing her to momentarily lose consciousness. He then proceeded to cut her on the arms with a knife. The assault was the latest in a long history of domestic violence for Jackson, who had previously been convicted of domestic violence twice in Tribal Court.
The investigation into the assault was conducted by the Gila River Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Raynette Logan handled the prosecution.
