A brazen robbery spree that spanned multiple towns in Vermont has landed a New Hampshire man behind bars. Christopher Boisvert of Swanzey, New Hampshire, was sentenced to 74 months in federal prison for his role in the August 2024 robberies.
On August 26, 2024, Boisvert and his conspirator, Meghan Cox, 40, of Laconia, New Hampshire, attempted to rob a marijuana dispensary. Boisvert then went on to successfully rob TD Bank in Bellows Falls and Brattleboro Savings & Loan in Brattleboro, obtaining $7,500 by threatening bank tellers and their families with violence.
According to court records, Boisvert was masked and appeared to be armed during the robberies. After the Brattleboro robbery, he led law enforcement on a high-speed chase through back roads of Vermont before abandoning his truck in a business parking lot. Boisvert and Cox then called law enforcement and falsely reported the truck stolen, claiming to be hiking all afternoon.
Boisvert pleaded guilty to one count of Bank Robbery and stipulated to the commission of a second bank robbery and an attempted robbery of a marijuana dispensary. His sentencing, which was handed down by Chief United States District Judge Christina Reiss, includes a three-year term of supervised release following his prison term.
Cox, who pleaded guilty on June 12, 2025, to her role in conspiring to rob the marijuana dispensary, is scheduled to be sentenced on October 20, 2025. Boisvert’s prior record includes multiple arrests and convictions for armed robberies from 2012 through 2023.
Acting United States Attorney Michael P. Drescher commended the investigatory efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Vermont State Police, and several local police departments in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The prosecutors are Assistant United States Attorneys Jonathan Ophardt and Dana Hill, while Assistant Federal Public Defender Emily Kenyon represents Boisvert and Richard C. Bothfeld, Esq. represents Cox.
The sentence handed down to Boisvert is a testament to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies to bring violent offenders to justice. As the investigation and prosecution of Boisvert’s case demonstrate, those who engage in violent crime will be held accountable for their actions.
