In a bold move to quash the thriving bootlegging industry in Key West, Florida, customs inspectors, under the supervision of Lieutenant Bragassa, inspector in charge at the Custom House, destroyed a massive haul of seized liquor on July 14, 1926. The lot, seized in a Buick automobile some time ago, consisted of a staggering 156 quarts and several five-gallon demijohns of illicit booze.
