Bootleggers Get a Free Pass from the Feds?

In a shocking move, the Interior Department has come under fire for allegedly giving the green light to bootleggers in the West. Secretary of the Interior Work has ordered a sweeping investigation into the reclamation projects in the region, amid charges of excessive overhead expenditures. The probe will be led by Special Assistant Secretary D.W. Davis and Director A.P. Davis of the Reclamation Service.

As part of their inquiry, Davis and his team will visit several key projects, including Carlsbad, Rio Grande, Salt River, Yuma, Strawberry Valley, Uncompahgre, and North Platte. The investigation is expected to be completed this month.

Meanwhile, the Interstate Commerce Commission has given the Wyoming and Missouri Railroad company permission to operate a line that spans two states – Wyoming and South Dakota. The 18-mile stretch of track runs from Belle Fourche S.D. to Aladdin, Wyoming, a small town just five or six miles from the South Dakota border.

But what’s the real story behind these moves? Is the Interior Department turning a blind eye to bootleggers, or are they simply trying to modernize the nation’s infrastructure? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – the people of Wyoming and the West deserve the truth.

The investigation raises more questions than answers. How will the Interior Department ensure that its projects are not being used as a front for illicit activities? And what about the role of the Interstate Commerce Commission in granting permission for the railroad line? These are questions that need to be answered.

As the investigation unfolds, one thing’s certain – the people of Wyoming and the West will be watching with bated breath. Will the Interior Department come clean, or will they continue to turn a blind eye to the allegations of corruption?
