Belgrade, Montana – Juan Diego Rojas-Meneses, 20, is heading back to El Paso after a quick trip to the Gallatin County jail. Federal Judge Dana L. Christensen sentenced Rojas-Meneses today for illegally re-entering the U.S. after being deported twice last September. The bust went down August 12th when cops raided a residence and found Rojas-Meneses with no legal permission to be here.
According to court records, Rojas-Meneses confessed he wasn’t authorized to be in the country. A check confirmed the feds had already kicked him out through El Paso on September 1st and September 23rd, 2024. He didn’t bother waiting for an invite this time around.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zeno Baucus led the prosecution in the case, a joint effort by U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Belgrade PD, and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigations. The whole thing is bundled into “Operation Take Back America,” the DOJ’s latest promise to clamp down on illegal immigration and supposedly “eliminate” cartels.
Rojas-Meneses served 219 days in jail before being handed over to the Border Patrol. Expect to see more cases like this as the DOJ ramps up enforcement under Operation Take Back America. The feds aren’t kidding around – they want repeat offenders off the streets and out of the country.
