A Bourne man is headed to the slammer after a federal court in Boston sentenced him to eight years in prison for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material and violating his supervised release.
Bryan C. Mileikis, 37, of Bourne, Massachusetts, was handed down his sentence by U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani. The punishment will be followed by five years of supervised release. Mileikis was also ordered to pay $18,000 in restitution for the CSAM case.
In addition to his child pornography charges, Mileikis received a two-year concurrent sentence for violating his supervised release on two prior unrelated federal armed bank robbery convictions. He pleaded guilty in October 2023 to one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
The investigation into Mileikis’ activities began in June 2019, when a search of his Bourne residence resulted in the seizure of his iPhone. A subsequent forensic examination of the cell phone revealed approximately 156 images and 22 videos depicting CSAM. The CSAM collection recovered from his cell phone consisted of prepubescent and pubescent minors, including children ranging in age from approximately one year old to approximately 17 years old.
Mileikis’ CSAM collection included sexual abuse of minor children by adults. At the time of the offense, he was on federal supervised release for two armed bank robbery convictions for which he was sentenced to 110 months in prison.
Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy, Michael J. Krol, Special Agent in Charge of the Homeland Security Investigations in Boston, Jodi Cohen, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Boston Division, and Bourne Police Chief Brandon Esip made the announcement today. Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus of the Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006. Led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the DOJ’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children, as well as identify and rescue victims.
