PHOENIX, Ariz. – Brent Edwin Justin, 32, of Maricopa, Arizona, has been sentenced to nearly 17 years in prison for his role in a shooting death that occurred on the Gila River Indian Community.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona, Justin previously pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge John J. Tuchi to 17 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
The incident occurred on March 1, 2020, when Justin shot the victim multiple times, resulting in the victim’s death. Justin is an enrolled member of the Gila River Indian Community.
The Gila River Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation in this case.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Raynette Logan, District of Arizona, Phoenix, handled the prosecution.
The case number is CR-20-00557-PHX-JJT and the release number is 2021-041_Justin.
