ABINGDON, Va. – In a stunning twist of events, Blaklee Buchanan, 27, from Bristol, Virginia, has pled guilty to one count of making false material declarations under oath before a federal court. The charges stem from Buchanan’s lying during her boyfriend’s supervised release revocation hearing for United States v. Bradford Loudy.
According to court documents, Buchanan was placed under oath as a witness on June 13, 2023. During the hearing, she categorically denied any physical assault by Loudy on March 23, 2023. She flatly stated, “He never touched me,” and to questions about being hit with a sandal or pushed down and kicked, Buchanan’s responses were, “No.”
Loudy’s assault of Buchanan was, however, witnessed by at least two other people, who contradicted Buchanan’s statements. When asked if she believed the women who claimed Loudy had beaten her, Buchanan defiantly replied, “Yes. I have no clue who they are. He doesn’t beat me. He did not beat me.”
Today’s guilty plea is a stark reversal of Buchanan’s initial assertions. The truth came to light when it was revealed that Loudy physically assaulted Buchanan on March 23, a fact corroborated by the two witnesses. Buchanan now faces up to five years in prison at her sentencing hearing scheduled for October 28, 2025.
Acting United States Attorney Zachary T. Lee announced the guilty plea today, while Assistant United States Attorney Danielle Stone is prosecuting the case for the United States.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by those who lie under oath and undermines the integrity of the judicial process.
