A Bronx man has been charged in connection with a brutal 2013 home-invasion robbery and murder. Terrill Staton, 44, allegedly broke into the home of 44-year-old Erwin Elliot on October 29, 2013, at 642 East 221st Street in the Bronx.
According to authorities, Staton shot and killed Elliot during the robbery, which was allegedly carried out in search of marijuana.
‘As alleged, the defendant went into Erwin Elliot’s home with a gun, robbed him, and murdered him,’ said Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. ‘Thanks to the dogged efforts of the FBI and the NYPD, the defendant is now being held accountable for his alleged brutal crimes.’
Staton is already in federal custody and is expected to be arraigned on the Superseding Indictment before U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald at a date to be determined.

NYPD Commissioner William Bratton added, ‘I want to commend the NYPD detectives and our law enforcement partners who were integral to this indictment, which we hope will offer some consolation to the family who lost their loved one to this violent act.’
