Buffalo Narc Convicted of Cocaine Ring

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A notorious Buffalo drug dealer, Wa1demar Martinez, a/k/a Crazy, has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in a massive cocaine distribution conspiracy. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara after Martinez was convicted of conspiring to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

Between December 2015 and June 7, 2016, Martinez, 44, allegedly conspired with others to traffic over 500 grams of the illegal substance in the Buffalo area. The defendant utilized a residence at 275 Tonawanda Street as a base for his drug operations. His downfall came on June 7, 2016, when he sold cocaine to an individual working under the guise of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr., announced Martinez’s sentence, emphasizing the severe nature of the crime and the significant threat to public safety posed by drug trafficking activities in the region. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Meghan Leydecker and Charles J. Volkert, Jr., handled the case against Martinez.

This sentencing follows an intensive investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, New York Field Division, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Ray Donovan, and the Buffalo Police Department, directed by Commissioner Byron Lockwood.

Law enforcement officials have praised the collaboration between agencies in bringing Martinez to justice. The sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by those who engage in drug trafficking within the city limits of Buffalo.
