Calif. Man Sentenced to 180 Months for Child Pornography Production

TULSA, Okla. – Alejandro Gomez, 32, of Santa Ana, California, faced justice today as he was sentenced to 180 months imprisonment for producing child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.

Gomez was also ordered by U.S. District Judge John F. Heil, III, to serve a lifetime supervised release and register as a sex offender upon his release. “The internet allowed Gomez to entice minors across the nation into sending him nude photos and videos,” said U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson, emphasizing the reach of online predators.

“I commend the FBI and our partners for securing justice for the victims in this case and holding Gomez accountable,” added FBI Oklahoma City Special Agent in Charge Doug Goodwater. The investigation began with a tip from a 15-year-old victim and their parent in June 2024, leading to Gomez’s use of different social media personas to groom and exploit minors.

According to court documents, Gomez sought out a 16-year-old before the 15-year-old, grooming them through sexual chats and images. He encouraged the creation of chatrooms, inviting more victims to produce explicit content. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline plays a crucial role in combating such crimes.

In May, President Donald J. Trump signed the TAKEITDOWN Act, requiring online platforms to remove child sexual exploitation images promptly. Gomez will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. Assistant U.S. Attorney George Jiang prosecuted the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child exploitation.
