Carlos Devon Lewis, Armed Bank Robbery, Arizona 2022

Carlos Devon Lewis, a 41-year-old Phoenix man, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in a string of armed bank robberies. Lewis and his co-conspirators robbed three area banks at gunpoint, stealing over $80,000 in cash.

The robberies took place in late 2019, with Lewis and his cohorts jumping the bank teller counter, stealing cash from teller drawers, and escaping in a getaway car. In each robbery, Lewis was fully masked, and his co-conspirator pointed a gun at bank employees and customers.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Peoria Police Department, Surprise Police Department, and the Phoenix Police Department conducted the investigation into the case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Tracy Van Buskirk, Emma Mark, and Lindsay Short handled the prosecution.

Senior U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell sentenced Lewis to 25 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. The case number is CR-20-00045-PHX-DGC, and the release number is 2022- 004_Lewis.
