In a shocking case of alleged child abuse, Carolyn Mullen, a 91-year-old mother, has been put on trial in Washington D.C.’s District Court for cruelty to children charges. The prosecution claims that Mullen chained her 9-year-old son, Frank, and her 2-year-old daughter, Mary, around their ankles on November 6, 1957, and left them alone in their apartment.
