Child Exploitation Crimes Shock the Community

A Nashville man has been handed a 45-year prison sentence for his heinous crimes against children. Cecil Clint Woodard, 42, was found guilty of producing, transporting, and possessing child pornography.

Woodard was arrested in June 2016 after a thorough investigation by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and the FBI. At his home, police discovered over 300 sexually explicit images and more than 20 videos of a 3-year-old child who was subjected to multiple acts of sexual abuse, including rape.

The disturbing acts took place between April and June 2016, with Woodard recording the abuse on 14 separate occasions. The videos and images were then distributed on the internet. This is not the first time Woodard has committed such crimes, as he had previously molested another child while she was between 9 and 12 years old.

Woodard’s online activities were also under scrutiny, as he pretended to be a 15-16 year-old male while online, in an attempt to secure more sexually explicit images of children. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department and the FBI worked tirelessly to bring Woodard to justice.

U.S. Attorney Don Cochran for the Middle District of Tennessee announced Woodard’s sentence, saying that the defendant’s actions were ‘heinous’ and ‘shocking’. Woodard pleaded guilty in January 2019 to 14 counts of production of child pornography, 6 counts of transportation of child pornography, and 1 count of possession of child pornography.

Woodard’s sentencing is a victory for the community, as it shows that those who commit such atrocities will face severe consequences. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of staying vigilant and protecting our children from those who would harm them.

This case is a prime example of the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies to protect our communities from child exploitation. Assistant U.S. Attorney S. Carran Daughtrey prosecuted the case, bringing Woodard to justice for his heinous crimes.
