A member of the MS-13 gang has been sentenced to 160 months in prison for his role in a racketeering conspiracy.
Celvin Eulice Ramos-Meija, also known as ‘Cadejo,’ 21, of Columbia, Maryland, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Peter J. Messitte of the District of Maryland on June 22, 2017.
Ramos-Mejia pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering and attempted murder in aid of racketeering.
The investigation into the case was conducted by HSI Baltimore, the Greenbelt Police Department, the Prince George’s County Police Department, and the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys William D. Moomau and Lindsay Eyler Kaplan of the District of Maryland are prosecuting the case.
MS-13 is an international gang composed primarily of immigrants or descendants of immigrants from El Salvador, with branches or ‘cliques’ operating throughout the U.S., including in Prince George’s County, Montgomery County, and Frederick County, Maryland.
The gang engages in racketeering activity, including murder, extortion, robberies, obstruction of justice, and other crimes.
