A Spokane man has been sentenced to 77 months imprisonment for being a previously convicted felon in possession of ammunition.
Charles Henry Reedy, age 24, was sentenced in United States District Court in Spokane. He previously pleaded guilty to the charge.
According to court documents, Reedy was arrested on January 16, 2014, after a traffic stop by the Yakima Violent Crimes Task Force. A search of the vehicle uncovered 400 rounds of CCI .22 caliber long rifle ammunition in a backpack.
Reedy’s criminal history includes a 2010 conviction for Assault in Violation of a Protection Order – Domestic Violence. He was sentenced to over 23 months imprisonment and released from prison, but was subsequently placed on court supervision.
Following the 2014 arrest, Reedy was charged Federally with being a previously convicted felon in possession of ammunition. He was subsequently sentenced to 77 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of court supervision following his release from Federal prison.
Michael C. Ormsby, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, praised the cooperative efforts of federal law enforcement officers and the Yakima Police Department in bringing Reedy to justice.
The case was prosecuted by Alison Gregoire, an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington.
