Local Man Arrested for Receiving Thousands of Child Pornography Images

A shocking discovery in James City County has left the community reeling as Charles K. Young, 69, pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography. According to court documents, a family member of Young’s reported their concerns to the James City County Police in August 2016, leading to a search warrant and the seizure of over 22,000 images of child pornography from Young’s home.

Young’s guilty plea was accepted by Senior U.S. District Judge Robert G. Doumar, and the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lisa R. McKeel. Dana J. Boente, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Martin Culbreth, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Norfolk Field Office, made the announcement after the plea was accepted.

The investigation revealed that Young admitted to receiving a movie containing images of minor males engaged in sexually explicit activity. This disturbing discovery has sparked outrage within the community, with many calling for harsher penalties for such heinous crimes.

Young faces a minimum five years in prison and a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison when sentenced on May 17. This sentence is a stark reminder of the severity of child pornography crimes and the need for stricter laws to protect our children.
