Christian Caballero, Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl and Cocaine, Massachusetts 2024

A Springfield man’s alleged involvement in a narcotics ring came to light when Christian Caballero, 31, pleaded guilty to possessing fentanyl and cocaine with intent to distribute.

On July 31, 2023, Caballero was arrested after law enforcement discovered 501 bags of fentanyl and 10.82 grams of cocaine in his possession.

The discovery was made in accordance with the charge of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine. Under federal law, the charge provides for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, four years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million.

At the time of his guilty plea on May 31, 2024, Judge Mark G. Mastroianni scheduled sentencing for August 1, 2024. The judge will determine the final sentence based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes governing the case.

Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy and Chicopee Police Chief Patrick J. Major announced the guilty plea. Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd E. Newhouse is prosecuting the case.
