Christina Ann Traylor, Sex Trafficking a Minor, Virginia 2024

A 16-year-old girl from Virginia was brutally exploited by a San Bernardino woman, Christina Ann Traylor, who has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking charges. 

Traylor, 27, of San Bernardino, California, entered a guilty plea in the Eastern District of Virginia on charges of sex trafficking a minor. According to the statement of facts filed with the plea agreement, Traylor, along with her boyfriend, recruited the minor victim for the purposes of engaging in commercial sex work.

Traylor caused the minor to perform commercial sex acts in Harrisonburg and Craigsville. Together with her boyfriend, Traylor drove the minor to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she demanded that the minor continue to perform commercial sex acts. After the minor refused to prostitute, Traylor assaulted her and drove her across the country to San Bernardino, California, where Traylor forced the minor to prostitute on the street.

The minor was eventually recovered by law enforcement and returned to Virginia. Traylor now faces a mandatory minimum of ten years and a maximum penalty of life in prison. She will be sentenced on December 2.

The case was investigated by the FBI’s Washington Field Office and the Fairfax County Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Whitney Dougherty Russell is prosecuting the case.

Traylor’s actions are a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of human trafficking. The exploitation of minors for commercial sex is a heinous crime that has severe and long-lasting effects on its victims.

As the sentencing date approaches, the community can only hope that justice will be served and that Traylor will be held accountable for her crimes. The recovery of the minor victim is a testament to the bravery and resilience of the young girl and her family.
