Vian Man Sentenced to 57 Months for Possession of Stolen Firearms

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a harsh sentence for a violent crime, CHRISTOPHER JORDAN LEE FOREMAN, age 22, of Vian, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 57 months of imprisonment for POSSESSION OF STOLEN FIREARMS, a federal crime punishable by not more than 10 years of imprisonment, up to a $250,000.00 fine or both.

The charges arose from an investigation by the Sallisaw Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, which found that FOREMAN knowingly possessed stolen firearms. These firearms had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce either before or after being stolen, violating federal laws.

The Honorable Ronald A. White, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing. FOREMAN will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending transportation to the designated federal facility at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence.

Assistant United States Attorney Timothy Hammer represented the United States in this case.

FOREMAN’s sentence is a stark reminder of the severity of committing violent crimes. The Eastern District of Oklahoma will continue to work tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice and provide a safer community for its citizens.

This case is a prime example of the collaboration between law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma. The Sallisaw Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms worked together to uncover the evidence that led to FOREMAN’s conviction.

This sentence is a result of FOREMAN’s inability to comply with federal laws. The severe consequences of his actions serve as a warning to others who would consider breaking the law.
