Christopher Mangelli, Hobbs Act Robbery and Bank Robbery, Pennsylvania 2020

A brazen convenience store robbery and a bank heist have led to a federal indictment for a Beaver County man. Christopher Mangelli, 36, of Koppel, Pennsylvania, is accused of robbing a Kwik Fill convenience store on August 30, 2020, and making off with $117.00. The FBI and Cranberry Township Police Department investigated the crime.

Just days later, on September 11, 2020, Mangelli allegedly robbed the Huntington Bank in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, stealing $1,440.00. Assistant United States Attorney Benjamin J. Risacher is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not more than 20 years in prison, a fine of not more than $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Mangelli is presumed innocent until proven guilty. A superseding indictment is an accusation, and the defendant has not yet entered a plea.

The FBI and Cranberry Township Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the Superseding Indictment in this case. The indictment names Mangelli as the sole defendant and charges him with Hobbs Act Robbery and Bank Robbery.
