GREENVILLE, North Carolina – A Wilson man has been sentenced to 171 months’ imprisonment followed by 5 years’ supervised release for his role in a heroin and crack conspiracy.

Claude King, 42, of Wilson, North Carolina, entered a guilty plea on September 14, 2015, to Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute a Quantity of Heroin and Cocaine Base (Crack) and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Offense.

The investigation into King’s activities began in 2013, focusing on his distribution of heroin and crack in Wilson, Pitt, Beaufort, and Dare counties. On September 14, 2013, King was arrested as he returned from New York with 50 grams of heroin. A search warrant executed at his home uncovered a firearm, further evidence of his illicit activities.

King’s guilty plea acknowledged his responsibility for the distribution of kilogram quantities of heroin in the mentioned counties. The criminal investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Wilson Police Department, Greenville Police Department, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, and Dare County Sheriff’s Office.
