SCRANTON – A 33-year-old federal inmate has been charged with possessing a weapon while in prison, according to a recent indictment.
Clayvon Givens, an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution, Allenwood (FCI Allenwood), was found in possession of a metal razor on March 15, 2022, according to United States Attorney John C. Gurganus.
The indictment alleges that Givens possessed contraband, a metal razor, in prison.
The charges stem from an investigation by officers at FCI Allenwood and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Assistant United States Attorney Alisan V. Martin is prosecuting the case.
Givens faces a maximum of five years of incarceration and a fine if convicted.
A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
Criminal indictments are only allegations. All persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
