Cleveland Man Brian Keeling Indicted for Child Pornography

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: Brian C. Keeling, 34, of Cleveland, Ohio, has been formally indicted on multiple child pornography charges by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The grim charges against Keeling include advertising, receiving, distributing, and possessing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. According to U.S. Attorney Carole S. Rendon, Keeling is accused of knowingly creating and causing advertisements that sought real minor children for exploitation, transported via computer networks and other means.

The indictment further reveals that Keeling received and distributed numerous computer files containing child pornography across state lines. These files were shipped and transported in a manner that affected interstate commerce.

In addition to the electronic charges, it is alleged that on December 6, 2016, Keeling possessed a ZTE cellular phone and a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, both of which contained explicit images of minors.

Should Keeling be found guilty, his sentence will be determined by the court based on several factors including his prior criminal record, if any, and the nature of the violation. It is noted that sentences in such cases typically do not exceed the statutory maximum.

This case is a testament to the efforts of Assistant United States Attorney Michael A. Sullivan and the Cleveland office of the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations. The charges against Keeling are serious, and he is entitled to a fair trial where the government must prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Keeling’s case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against child exploitation in the digital age and underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to protect our children.
