Heroin Distribution Plague Hits Grant County

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA – In a disturbing turn of events, a Grant County man and woman have been found guilty of distributing heroin in the area.

Cody Zane Stevenson, age 24, and Amanda Lynn Bow, 22, both pled guilty to heroin distribution charges, announced Acting United States Attorney Betsy Steinfeld Jividen.

According to the information, Stevenson and Bow admitted to distributing heroin in May 2016 in Grant County, West Virginia. Both defendants face up to 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah W. Montoro prosecuted the cases on behalf of the government. The West Virginia State Police investigated the crimes.

Stevenson and Bow’s Crimes: They were both charged with “Distribution of Heroin – Aiding and Abetting”.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the cases. The residents of Grant County can now rest easy knowing that the perpetrators of these heinous crimes have been brought to justice.
