Columbus Meth Kingpin ‘T’ Sentenced to 10 Years

A 23-year-old Columbus man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine trafficking operation.

Columbus resident Jerrell E. Harrison, also known as ‘T’ and ‘Chubbs,’ was arrested in September 2023 and pleaded guilty in December 2023 to two counts of distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Harrison sold hundreds of grams of methamphetamine to undercover agents in January and February 2023. The drugs were found to be 99 percent and 100 percent pure.

Harrison’s dealings were not limited to methamphetamine. He discussed owning over 20 firearms with undercover agents and offered to sell them. He even produced a loaded handgun, stating he carried it because one of his ‘trap houses’ in the Bottoms had recently been shot up.

In addition to the methamphetamine and firearms, Harrison also offered to sell Glock switches – devices that turn a semi-automatic weapon into a fully automatic machinegun – to the undercover agents.

The list of illicit goods Harrison was willing to sell didn’t stop there. He also offered to sell fentanyl for $1,000 an ounce, claiming it was the ‘best price in the city.’

U.S. District Court Judge Edmund A. Sargus, Jr. handed down the 10-year sentence in the case. Assistant United States Attorney Noah R. Litton represented the United States in the case.

United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio Kenneth L. Parker and Daryl S. McCormick, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF), announced the sentence.

Harrison’s arrest and subsequent conviction are a significant blow to the city’s narcotics trade. The sentence imposed on him serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in such illicit activities.
