BOSTON – Lamont Boswell, a 39-year-old man from Rockland, Mass., has entered a guilty plea for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The charge stems from an incident on April 2, 2025, where police discovered a Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun, loaded with 13 rounds, inside Boswell’s car.
Boswell was already under federal supervision due to a 2021 conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. That case involved illegal possession while driving, resulting in a 57-month prison sentence and three years of supervised release.
The latest offense, which also violates his supervised release terms, carries a potential sentence of up to 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for December 3, 2025.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Bryan DiGirolamo, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (BATFE), Boston Field Division, announced the charges. The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, eliminating cartels, and protecting communities from violent crime.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Fred M. Wyshak III, of the Organized Crime and Gang Unit, is prosecuting the case. Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Scituate Police Department provided special assistance in the investigation.
