In a shocking move, President Calvin Coolidge’s closest friend and advisor, Frank W Stearns, announced the President’s intention to seek the Republican nomination for President in 1924. Stearns, a Boston power broker, revealed that President Coolidge had chosen William M Butler, the Massachusetts Republican national committeeman and a long-time friend of the President, as his personal representative in the campaign.
