Two men from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, have been slapped with federal charges for their alleged involvement in a narcotics operation that also involved firearms.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, William L. Nalley Jr., 27, of Boiling Springs, and Rafael Orihuela, 22, of Carlisle, have been indicted on charges of distributing controlled substances and unlawfully possessing firearms.
The indictment alleges that Nalley possessed with the intent to distribute marijuana, lysergic acid diethylamide, and psilocin, with the latter two being highly potent hallucinogens. The indictment also claims that Nalley possessed two firearms in furtherance of his alleged drug-trafficking activities.
Orihuela is accused of maintaining a premise for the purpose of unlawfully storing, distributing, and using the controlled substances listed above.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Middlesex Township Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Stephen Dukes is prosecuting the case.
Nalley faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine. Orihuela faces a maximum penalty of twenty years imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
It’s worth noting that indictments are only allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent until found guilty in court.
