California – Daniel Zingale, the top staffer for Governor Gavin Newsom, has been charged with public corruption in an alleged scheme involving four others.
According to a press release, Zingale was indicted on multiple counts of bribery, embezzlement, and conspiracy in connection with a scheme that allegedly took place in Los Angeles County between January 2020 and December 2023.
The indictment alleges that Zingale and the other defendants used their positions to solicit and accept bribes in exchange for official actions and influence.
