Little Rock, AR – In a federal court in Arkansas, previously convicted felons Darius Lee, 33, and two other defendants were sentenced to prison on gun charges.
According to the Department of Justice, USAO, Darius Lee, 33, of Little Rock, Arkansas, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and 10 years for being an armed career criminal. Both sentences will run concurrently.
Lee’s sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge D.P. Marshall Jr. after a guilty plea in June 2023. Lee was arrested in 2022 after being caught carrying a gun in the Savannah’s mall in Little Rock.
Another defendant, Robert Lee, 29, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Robert Lee was arrested in 2022 after firing shots in a neighborhood in Fort Smith.
U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Clay Fowlkes, said in a statement, ‘These defendants showed a blatant disregard for the law and the safety of our communities. We will continue to work tirelessly to keep our neighborhoods safe from firearms violence.’
The sentences were handed down as part of a larger investigation by the FBI’s Little Rock Field Office and the Little Rock Police Department. The cases were prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Chris Givens and Stephanie Niles.
