David Andrew Ogden, Child Sexual Abuse Material Production, Florida 2024

Winter Park resident David Andrew Ogden (39) is facing serious federal charges after being accused of producing and possessing child sexual abuse material. According to a recent indictment, Ogden is charged with five counts of production of child sexual abuse material and one count of possession of child sexual abuse material.

In September 2022 and on multiple occasions between June and September 2024, Ogden allegedly used or attempted to use a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of the conduct. Additionally, in September 2024, Ogden possessed additional child sexual abuse material.

The indictment, which was returned by a grand jury, marks a significant step in the investigation into Ogden’s alleged activities. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Winter Park Police Department.

Ogden, if convicted, faces a minimum penalty of 15 years, up to 30 years, in federal prison for each of the production counts. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison for the possession count.

An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.

The case against Ogden is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Megan Testerman. As part of the investigation, authorities have worked to identify and rescue potential victims of child exploitation.

Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the US Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, aims to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
