Troy Man Sentenced to 46 Months for Distributing and Conspiring to Distribute Fentanyl
ALBANY, NEW YORK – In a significant blow to the city’s narcotics trade, David Colon, a 41-year-old resident of Troy, New York, was sentenced to 46 months in prison for his role in distributing and conspiring to distribute fentanyl.
On August 31, 2020, Colon took the reins of a drug trafficking operation that spanned Albany and Rensselaer counties, with the explicit goal of distributing and agreeing with others to distribute approximately 125 grams of fentanyl on multiple occasions throughout Albany and Troy.
During the course of the operation, Colon amassed a considerable sum of money, eventually forfeiting $560,548 in seized cash, which represented the proceeds of his fentanyl distribution operation. This staggering amount serves as a testament to the lucrative nature of the illicit narcotics trade.
The sentencing was handed down by United States District Judge Mae. A. D’Agostino, who also imposed a 4-year term of post-release supervision on Colon.
