Delano Man Dobson Gets 10 Years for Child Porn Distribution

Steven Andrew Dobson, 33, of Delano, California, is headed to federal prison for a decade after being sentenced on charges of receiving and distributing child pornography. U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. O’Neill handed down the 10-year sentence today in Fresno, followed by an additional 10 years of court-monitored supervised release.

Court documents reveal Dobson engaged in the receipt and distribution of between 150 and 300 images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct over the internet between March 1, 2016, and November 11, 2016, in Kern County. The material wasn’t just illicit—it crossed into the horrific, featuring depictions of violence and prepubescent children, escalating the severity of the crimes.

Federal prosecutors painted a damning picture of Dobson’s digital footprint, showing deliberate and repeated access to and sharing of exploitative content. Each image represents a real child victim, and each transmission through the web deepens the trauma. Dobson’s actions placed him squarely in the crosshairs of federal law enforcement’s most aggressive child protection operations.
