Hattiesburg, Miss. – A Jefferson Davis County felon was sentenced to 77 months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of multiple firearms.
Jefferson Davis County resident Delmus Stubbs, 42, was found in possession of multiple firearms during a safety checkpoint in Collins, Mississippi, according to court documents. Stubbs had previously been convicted of multiple felonies, with his most recent conviction being for possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm.
Stubbs pled guilty on November 23, 2021, to being a felon in possession of a firearm. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Mississippi Highway Patrol, and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics investigated the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew W. Eichner prosecuted the case. The sentence also included a fine of $2,000 and a term of three years of supervised release following his release from confinement.

Through the PSN Program, a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including federal, state, and local law enforcement, work together to reduce violent crime. The program focuses enforcement efforts on the most violent offenders and partners with locally based prevention and reentry programs for lasting reductions in crime.
Stubbs’ case was prosecuted as part of the joint federal, state, and local PSN Program, which aims to reduce violent crime in communities across the country.
