A Berkeley County man has admitted to his role in distributing heroin in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, officials announced.
DeMarco Davis, Jr., also known as “Tipp,” of Inwood, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to one count of “Aiding and Abetting Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin,” United States Attorney Bill Powell announced.
The 36-year-old Davis admitted to selling heroin in January 2017 in Berkeley County. He will be sentenced at a later date.
The investigation was handled by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
Prosecution of the case is being handled by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney C. Lydia Lehman, who is working in conjunction with the Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Davis will face the music for his crime. The full extent of his punishment has yet to be determined.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble presided over the proceedings, ensuring that justice was served.
